This course aims to prepare candidates for the MRCP Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills. Over ten evenings the course covers all of the exam stations using short cases. There is also focus on the 'History Taking' and 'Communication Skills' stations. The course concludes with a mock exam and individual feedback on performance.
Courses focus on examination technique, how to improve quickly, and what is expected in the examination. Candidates receive continuous feedback from tutors throughout.
Ealing PACES has provided revision courses since 1992. The weekend PACES course is structured along the lines of the current adult MRCP PACES examination. Candidates have the opportunity to see over 100 system examinations (short cases) as well as receive advice on examination technique and skills for the exam. The one day Neurology & Ophthalmology course includes Neurology stations, Ophthalmology stations, patients and practical demonstrations. The course content is targeted to the conditions commonly encountered in the MRCP PACES exam.
Courses are held in a hotel and feature over 100 common exam-themed cases and a 5-station mock exam. The course focuses on presenting your findings and management plans with comprehensive feedback and case discussion. The price includes a subscription to PasTest's online PacesCases service.
The Hammersmith Medicine MRCP PACES course runs for four evenings. The first three evenings are dedicated to short case scenarios, and the 4th day to history and ethics. The clinical cases have been selected to reflect the content of the exam, and teaching is in groups of 4-6. All candidates will practise physical examination, history taking and communication skills themselves. The course concludes with a detailed lecture describing the key knowledge base relevant to the Communication and Ethics scenarios most likely to be encountered in the exam.

80-100 short cases including Ethics/History stations. Emphasis is on exam tuition, technique and style.
2-day courses including 60-70 short cases with consultant and specialist led training.
